Cook For Cause

Cook for a Cause

OzHarvest Adelaide has been getting good food to people in need since 2011. Every week, four vans named Daisy, Lily, Chino, and Billy, rescue around 3,500kg of quality surplus food, and deliver more than 40,000 meals to people in need throughout Adelaide.

Join OzHarvest for a Cooking for a Cause experience. Learn about zero waste food preparation using rescued ingredients to create a gourmet meal that they then pack for delivery to local charities. Key takeaways include new skills to be used at home as well as a team building activity that elevates working together for the benefit of vulnerable communities.

Team Building That Gives Back

Giving back to charity is a driving factor for team engagement and collaboration for CSR events. Teams enjoy tackling problems with innovative solutions and ethical outcomes. By developing compassionate products, companies that invest in team building improve outcomes through cohesion and cooperation of employees. Teams have the opportunity to create something that will benefit others while maintaining and building lasting relationships within the group.

With Beyond the Boardroom, you can construct a water filtration unit which is sent to a partnering charity and given to a village in need of clean drinking water. Or give back to those who are less fortunate by constructing toys or bikes for a children’s charity, kennels for rescue dogs, prosthetics for amputees or solar lights for children living in energy poverty to help them study after dark and improve education.

If you have something specific in mind and would like to try something different, you can modify the programs to include a fundraising element. For example, a race which raises money for a charity of your choosing.

Tree’s for Life

Tree’s for life is a South Australian charity that’s goal is to simply plant more trees across South Australia. Their team of volunteer growers raise almost half a million native seedlings in their backyards each year. Given the devastation of recent bushfires on Kangaroo Island and the Adelaide Hills, never has their mission been more important. The concept here is to use the Trees for Life volunteer network to grow the seedlings for your delegates and when delegates are in Adelaide, they can plant their own individual tree. This will leave a lasting legacy in South Australia and provide much needed vegetation for our natural habitat. To find out more, click here to website.
