Australia’s longest running mining event begins tomorrow in its new home at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
Asia-Pacific's International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX), held in Sydney for over 20 years, was secured to South Australia last year by Business Events Adelaide. The event is expected to attract over 4,500 delegates from over 30 countries, with some 250 exhibitors covering more than 4,000 square metres of exhibition space. Each AIMEX contributes $45m to the State economy and will be held biennially in Adelaide until 2033.

Alongside an exhibition space packed with new technologies and hands-on demonstrations, AIMEX 2025 will also host a thought-leading conference program with speakers including Hon. Tom Koutsantonis MP, South Australian Minister for Energy and Mining; Nicola McFarlane, interim CEO of the SA Chamber of Mines & Energy; Paul Martyn, CEO Department for Energy and Mining and a host of others.
A showpiece occasion aligned the AIMEX is the 2025 Prospect Awards. The dinner, to present the most esteemed and prestigious awards program for the mining and minerals processing industry within Australia, will be hosted at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday (24 September).
Business Events Adelaide Chief Executive Officer, Mr Damien Kitto said that AIMEX will not only generate a strong financial return but also provide a significant economic tail of enduring benefits to South Australia’s important mining and energy sector. “Business Events Adelaide tries as far as possible to secure business events in industries that allow our global expertise to come to the fore. By hosting AIMEX in our State, mining and energy providers will be able to develop lasting connections and relationships. AIMEX is a great fit for Adelaide”.
Prime Creative Media’s General Manager – Events, Siobhan Rocks, said the event’s inaugural South Australian iteration is a momentous occasion for the state and the mining industry alike. “We’re so excited to bring this established and respected event to a new frontier for the first time,” Rocks said. “South Australia is fast emerging as the driving force of Australia’s mining industry, and we’re proud to put this event at the forefront of that momentum.”
“Bringing together thousands of mining industry leaders promises inspiring conversations and groundbreaking ideas – it’s shaping up to be a must-attend event. It’s the perfect opportunity to build new connections, share knowledge, and explore fresh opportunities.”
